Chopping for Change (C4C), a Cleveland-based outreach of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry, was established in 2015 with a grant from We Raise. C4C gives incarcerated women the tools they need to succeed after release through culinary arts training, counseling, and transitional services. Due to the incredibly low recidivism rate of C4C participants, program leaders are expanding it to include men. Previously, the therapeutic curriculum and support services that are part of the Chopping for Change culinary certificate program had been tailored specifically for women. Now, with your generous gift, leaders are identifying and addressing the unique needs of male inmates and the issues they often experience during reintegration into their communities, and tailoring the Chopping for Change program accordingly.
