We Raise Foundation Adds Angela Dejene to its Board of Directors
We Raise Foundation is pleased to announce that it recently elected Angela Dejene, Austin, Texas, to join its national Board of Directors.

Angela Dejene is President and Founder of Dejene Communications. The firm provides management positioning, executive-level communications counsel and media and marketing strategy to front-line foundations, forward-thinking nonprofit organizations, and for-profit global companies actively engaged in improving and protecting local, regional and global health.
Angela has provided counsel to some of the nation’s most visible international corporations, technology startups, healthcare providers, and university leaders. She was one of the youngest public relations executives in the U.S. to head up a healthcare practice at a national agency, which dramatically catapulted to the top of the healthcare heap, earning recognition as the number one-ranked healthcare public relations agency in Texas and one of the top 50 healthcare public relations firms in the country according to J.R. O’Dwyer Company.
In March 2018, Angela was chosen to be a delegate to the 62nd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York City where she represented the Lutheran World Federation. She was also named a 2016 Fellow by the Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Program, a high-level international nursing intervention and education program to improve the delivery of health care to school children around the world.
Angela provides ongoing counsel and support to global communication teams and leading advocates currently and boldly engaging some of the greatest continuing health care challenges of our times including Alzheimer’s disease, Ebola, Zika, and malaria.
Angela holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and government/international affairs from Augustana University, Sioux Falls, S.D. She and her husband, Dag, welcomed their first child in February 2017.
