Doing Life Together
AUGUST 2017
Welcome to the latest edition of the Wheat Ridge eNewsletter. This is always one of my favorite editions as we highlight some of our Emerging Leader Grant recipients. You’ll read about several innovative, dedicated, and compassionate Christian leaders that are bringing solutions to important challenges in their community. Wheat Ridge is proud to support their efforts and we hold them up as future nonprofit sector leaders that will (continue to) do critical work in our world.
In our offices in Itasca, Illinois, we have a cabinet full of old pictures and documents highlighting the work of young leaders from years ago. As members of the Walther League, they (perhaps you) built hospitals, taught students, and “did life together” in service to Jesus Christ and His people.
So, we are surrounded by dedicated young people—past and present—that serve as examples to us all. What a blessing to be reminded regularly that “with God, all things are possible.”
As you read the description of these emerging leaders, I ask you to do three things:
- Pray for their continued strength, wisdom, and passionate enthusiasm for the people they serve.
- Consider supporting future Emerging Leaders by making a gift to Wheat Ridge for this grant program. Each Emerging Leader grant is $5,000-$10,000.
- Help us identify other future leaders by encouraging local candidates in your community to apply for a grant.
We are honored to “do life with you” and look forward to our continued partnership in supporting leaders and their programs through our work together.
With gratitude,
Paul C. Miles
President
